Internship Program Outline
  • Work directly with Public Affairs staff on all aspects of our Congressional Awards Program.
  • Research and track key election races through election night.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of the NAM's post-election briefing.
  • Assist with research projects related to NAM issue advocacy campaigns, particularly in the energy and natural resources, trade, and employment and labor areas.
  • Assist in identifying and pulling grassroots and grasstops contact from our internal database.
  • Monitor news reports and conduct research for issue campaigns and key electoral races as directed.
  • Help coordinate NAM PAC events.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Internship Final Project
Using skills and knowledge gained through the fall, the intern will conduct a research project comparing the NAM's GOTV program to those of 2-4 of our association allies. The project will include a PPT presentation to the full External Relations team.

Qualifications
Undergraduate student majoring in a related field. Must have strong written and verbal communications skills, computer proficiency and good telephone manners and interpersonal skills. Some prior experience a plus, but not required.

Normal Work Hours/Days
Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (35 hours per week). Academic schedules can be accommodated. Hours/schedule negotiable.
