-  National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Board Chair Mary Andringa, who is president and CEO of the Vermeer Corporation, issued the following statement in response to Department of Commerce Secretary John Bryson’s speech on manufacturing today. Secretary Bryson was recently named a co-chair of the Office of Manufacturing Policy.

“Manufacturers have put forth a four-point plan for economic growth and jobs, which will enable the U.S. to compete and succeed in the global economy. The priorities we have outlined will make the U.S. the best place in the world to manufacture, expand our access to the world’s markets and drive innovation. Secretary Bryson’s remarks reflect goals for the Office of Manufacturing Policy that we hope will become a reality.

We look forward to continuing to work with the Commerce Department to grow our partnership with the New Market Export Initiative, which is helping manufacturers find new markets to increase their exports. Manufacturing means jobs, and manufacturers stand ready to lead in growing our economy and accomplishing these goals together.”
