NAM Supports House Legislation to Rein in Regulations
Legislation Would Force Federal Government to Consider Impact of Overregulation
Washington, D.C., 07/31/13 - National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Senior Vice President of Policy and Government Relations Aric Newhouse issued this statement in support of H.R. 1582, the Energy Consumers Relief Act of 2013:
“Manufacturers are facing an onslaught of new regulations from the Environmental Protection Agency, ranging from water usage to fuels to greenhouse gas emissions. These regulations will have an enormous impact on the economy and our ability to remain globally competitive.
H.R. 1582 offers a commonsense approach to reining in these regulations by ensuring they undergo a rigorous review process, which takes into account the real-world impact on energy costs, employment and the overall economy, before they are finalized and implemented. Manufacturers strongly support approval of this commonsense legislation to protect jobs and economic growth.”
