Through the NAM's comprehensive grassroots and employee engagement efforts, NAM manufacturers of all sizes – and their employees – are building valuable relationships with policymakers and helping to advance the manufacturing policy agenda.
Key programs include:
- A wide variety of employee and executive education and involvement opportunities that give manufacturers and their employees the tools they need to weigh-in on the real world impact of key policy issues.
-
The NAM Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence, which honors members of Congress for their consistent support of US manufacturers
- Congressional dialogues that bring elected officials together with manufacturers in their districts or states so that they can discuss the issues that directly impact the strength of the manufacturing sector.
- The annual NAM Manufacturing Summit, which brings hundreds of manufacturers into Washington to meet with policymakers and highlight the critical role of manufacturing in our economic security.
- Plant tours that give members of Congress the opportunity to see manufacturers and their employees at work and to learn how federal policies affect their ability to retain and create jobs.
- The National Public Affairs Steering Committee (NPASC), a group of leading public affairs and government relations executives that helps plan and execute public affairs activities to advance manufacturers' public policy goals.
- Support the NAM's small and medium manufacturing members (SMM) in the policy process and work to encourage executive engagement, grassroots outreach from employees and the development of strong congressional relationships.
-
