Multilateral Trade

WHAT’S AT STAKE »

International commercial engagement and multilateral trade agreements are an effective way to produce new economic opportunities for American industries and workers, while also advancing broader U.S. objectives internationally.

Unilateral economic sanctions limit growth opportunities, costing jobs as foreign companies move in to fill the void, and are less effective in meeting broader U.S. objectives than broader multilateral approaches.

The NAM strongly supports multilateral trade agreements, promoting international commercial engagement to grow manufacturing in the United States and strengthen ties around the world.
