Multilateral Trade

The NAM is the strongest and most aggressive voice here at home and internationally, promoting international commercial engagement to grow manufacturing in the United States and strengthen ties around the world. The NAM strongly supports multilateral trade agreements that will produce significant new market access for U.S. manufacturing products sold into world markets. Manufacturers know that international commercial engagement and multilateral trade agreements are an effective way to produce new economic opportunities for American industries and workers and grow the U.S. economy, while also advancing broader U.S. objectives internationally. Unilateral economic sanctions, on the contrary, limit those growth opportunities costing jobs as foreign companies move in to fill the void, and are less effective in meeting broader U.S. objectives than broader multilateral approaches.
