ICYMI: NAM, Arizona Chamber Spotlight Senator McCain’s Vote on the Budget as Critical to Achieving Tax Reform

Washington, D.C., October 17, 2017 – Today, leaders from the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and the Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry held a media conference call to draw attention to the importance of U.S. Senator John McCain’s vote on the 2018 Budget Resolution, a critical step toward achieving tax reform.

“The Senate is voting on the budget resolution this week and that’s a very consequential vote for manufacturers. There’s really no escaping the fact that the vote on this budget is essentially a vote on tax reform,” NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons said on the call. “Manufacturers are greatly confident that Arizona Senators McCain and Flake are going to do the right thing. We’re urging that Arizonans speak up, let their senators know that they want tax reform, because they want a stronger American economy, better paychecks, more opportunities to save for the future and a better life for their families.”

Following the call, Senator McCain announced his support for the budget resolution. For the full audio from today’s press call, please click here.
