Washington, D.C. – National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) President and CEO Jay Timmons released the following statement on the retirement announcement of American Petroleum Institute (API) President and CEO Jack Gerard:

“For nearly a decade, Jack Gerard’s exemplary leadership of API has set a high bar for those of us in the association community. He has been a best-in-class and transformative leader and is a true force in his advocacy for America’s energy future and the men and women of the oil and natural gas industry. He used his platform not only to make the American economy more competitive, but also to bring together those with diverse views and backgrounds with the common goal of strengthening America’s spirit. Jack has been a strong partner and a stalwart advocate for manufacturers in America and has helped us to advance many shared goals to improve the quality of life for millions of Americans.

“I have been honored to work closely with Jack as a colleague, but I’m even more grateful to be able to call him and Claudette wonderful friends. Manufacturers in America express our deep gratitude to Jack for his tremendous service throughout his impressive career and for his unfailing commitment to our country’s progress.”
