Plastics Market Webinar – Poland, Bulgaria, Russia January 19, 2009 Save the Date!!! Cost: $35 For more information: Rebecca Balogh
Eastern Europe and Eurasia present strong opportunities for U.S. companies selling in the plastics sector. Take an hour of your time to find out if you can increase your earnings by entering these markets
- The Polish plastic processing industry is in surprisingly good condition and represents the fastest developing sub-sector of the chemical industry. For example, the overall sales volume of plastic goods in Poland is a positive 5 percent for 2008.
- The Russian chemical industry represents about 1.7% of Russia’s GDP and produces around 1% of the world’s chemical products. This sector includes mineral fertilizers, synthetic plastics and resins, tires, rubber products, synthetic fibers, paints and coatings, synthetic detergents and other chemical products. Although market statistics for chemical machinery are not readily available, this sector is heavily skewed toward imports. Nearly 100% of molding and extrusion equipment used by Russian chemical companies is imported.
- In Bulgaria, the share of the plastics industry as a component of the chemical industry grew approximately 42 percent during the last few years and this upswing was provoked by general economic growth and higher consumption of end products from plastics. The driver of this growth has been the increased use of plastic packaging and the need in the construction sector for plastic materials.
