Wes Irvin is vice president of government relations at the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), headquartered in Washington, D.C. He has worked for members of both the House and Senate, including Representatives Frank R. Wolf (R-VA), Dave Camp (R-MI) and Ernie Fletcher (R-KY) as well as Senator Mike DeWine (R-OH). He also served as communications director for the campaign of Governor Ernie Fletcher.

Most recently, Mr. Irvin was vice president and director of transportation and infrastructure at APCO Worldwide, where he focused on multimodal transportation issues including public transportation, aviation, freight rail, implementation of rail legislation, maritime issues, public-private partnerships and helping manufacturers position their products and services in the transportation arena.

Prior to that, he served as a senior official at the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), where he was the associate administrator for the Office of Congressional Affairs and Communications at the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). During his tenure at the FTA, Mr. Irvin oversaw all congressional relations and communications for the 500-employee federal agency with an approximate annual budget of $10 billion. In addition, Mr. Irvin advised the DOT’s Office of the Secretary on issues involving public transportation and related transportation policy matters across the United States and served as a senior advisor to the FTA Administrator.

While at the DOT, he also served as director of congressional and public affairs at the maritime administration, where he was a senior advisor to the U.S Maritime Administrator.

Mr. Irvin holds a master's degree from American University and a bachelor's degree in political science from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire.
