Alexis J. Bayer, regional manager, joined the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) in 2008. Based in San Francisco, Calif., Ms. Bayer serves as a liaison for NAM member companies headquartered in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
She previously worked as the NAM’s director of energy and resources policy in Washington, D.C., where she had primary responsibility for directing the NAM’s efforts on nuclear power, climate change and sustainability. She also represented the NAM as a lobbyist before Congress and the Administration on energy issues. Prior to joining the NAM, Ms. Bayer worked over five years in the office of Senator John Ensign (R-NV) as a legislative assistant, advising him on all matters related to energy, resources, trade and foreign affairs. She earned a bachelor’s degree in international affairs with a concentration in economics and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in national security and strategic studies from the U.S. Naval War College.
