Board and Membership Associate

SUMMARY: Responsible for administrative support to the Vice President of board and strategic initiatives and corporate secretary. Also responsible for coordination and leadership as member of team that executes Board of Directors meetings.

This position requires an organized, flexible self-starter who is highly detail-oriented and can multi-task and manage projects. The position represents the NAM at all levels both internally and externally. Excellent interpersonal skills are required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare all briefing materials for vice president's daily meetings.
  • Support VP with calendar, scheduling, travel arrangements, preparing letters, memos, briefs, and expense reports, and other duties as assigned.
  • Work with VP and Board manager and Board team to coordinate logistic, staffing and collateral components of twice-annual Board meetings and Executive Committee meetings. Manage Board meeting on-site back office in coordination with meetings management department.
  • Must have the ability to work across the organization and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, judgment and team work. Must develop relationships and be highly responsive to Board members' offices and staff.



  • Requires excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal skills with the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to work face-to-face with senior level executives.

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum four years of administrative/project management work experience required.
  • Not-for-profit administrative and project management experience a plus.
