House Stands with Manufacturers

TPA Is Win for Jobs, Growth and American Exceptionalism

Washington, D.C., June 18, 2015 – National Association of Manufacturers President and CEO Jay Timmons released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives approved legislation to authorize Trade Promotion Authority (TPA):

“Manufacturers in the United States secured a victory today for all Americans, to spur job creation and drive economic growth and investment. A majority of the House of Representatives put politics aside and decisively acted to increase U.S. competitiveness and to open opportunities with the 95 percent of customers living outside our borders.

We learned again who stands with manufacturers, who provides promise for our industry and empowers more jobs for our workers, and who today helped lead us to a better and more prosperous tomorrow. Manufacturers call on the Senate to move quickly to get this measure to the President’s desk.”
