ICYMI: NAM Spotlights Senator Corker’s Vote on the Budget as Critical to Achieving Tax Reform

Washington, D.C., October 17, 2017 – Today, leaders from the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry held a media conference call to draw attention to the importance of U.S. Senator Bob Corker’s vote on the 2018 Budget Resolution, a critical step toward achieving tax reform.

“As the Senate takes up the budget this week, it’s a consequential time for tax reform and it is an absolutely vital moment for manufacturers in America. There’s absolutely no escaping the fact that a vote on this budget, a yes vote, is essential to moving tax reform forward. It’s a critical step. And the NAM believes and manufacturers believe the stakes are too high for our elected leaders to really miss this opportunity,” NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons said on the call. “Senator Corker has indicated that he has some concerns with the budget bill so we’re encouraging him and we want him to know manufacturers are really counting on this vote on the budget and we need his help on that.”
