Manufacturing Executive Leadership Program

The Manufacturing Executive Leadership Program is the NAM’s signature leadership training program for C-level manufacturing executives.

As part of the three-part program, MELP highlights the importance of engaging with Washington—to help executives advance their business priorities by focusing on developing the essential strategic leadership skills needed to communicate successfully with policymakers.

Through MELP, executives also have the opportunity to use these new tools—by participating directly in coalition building and grassroots activism, and through communicating manufacturers’ agenda—to help effect change at every level of government.

NAM Health Care

Providing cost-effective health care plans is a priority for manufacturers but can also be a significant burden—and that’s why, for the first time, the NAM began offering an association health plan with UnitedHealthcare. Available to NAM members and members of affiliated associations with 2–99 employees, this plan enables small manufacturing companies across the country to purchase affordable health care at rates previously only available to large corporations.

NAM Health Care was developed with Mercer and UnitedHealthcare to meet manufacturers’ unique health care needs. It allows small manufacturers to be priced under large group rates in states that allow association health plans, saving many of these smaller enterprises between 5–15% on health insurance costs—a benefit that other groups and associations don’t provide.

This groundbreaking plan will help manufacturers attract and retain employees, improve competitiveness and lower the cost of health care.
