David O’Brien

VP, Strategic Communications

David O’Brien is vice president of strategic communications at the National Association of Manufacturers, the nation’s largest industrial trade association. He leads the association’s media strategy and is responsible for its ongoing efforts to publicize the work of the policy, government relations, legal and membership teams along with the Manufacturing Institute, Manufacturing Leadership Council and Innovation Research Interchange.

Prior to joining the NAM, David worked in public relations representing Fortune 500 companies and associations across the nation’s capital. Previously, he served as press secretary for Congressman Kevin Brady (R-TX-8), former chair and ranking member of the House Ways and Means Committee. Before working on Capitol Hill, David started his career with the Fox Business Network in New York.

A native of Pennsylvania, he received his bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University. David resides in Washington, D.C.
